Our Commitment
Family Benefits Calculator is committed to making this website accessible to as many people as possible, including people with disabilities. We aim to meet the requirements of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA.
What We Have Done
To improve accessibility, we have:
- Used semantic HTML elements and appropriate heading structures
- Provided a "Skip to main content" link at the top of each page for keyboard users
- Used sufficient colour contrast for text and interactive elements
- Ensured all form inputs have associated labels
- Used ARIA attributes where helpful for screen readers
- Ensured all interactive elements are keyboard-navigable
- Avoided relying on colour alone to convey information
- Made the site fully usable on screen readers (tested with VoiceOver and NVDA)
Known Issues
We are aware of the following accessibility limitations and are working to address them:
- Some complex calculator results may not be optimally structured for all screen readers. We continue to test and improve.
- The font size for some secondary labels may be small on low-resolution displays.
Supported Technologies
This website is designed to work with:
- Modern web browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge — current and previous major versions)
- Screen readers including NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver and TalkBack
- Keyboard-only navigation
- Browser zoom up to 200% without loss of content or functionality
